Listen for a Change: Honoring Complexities

posted September 20, 2017

Listen for a Change, a grassroots social justice-storytelling organization based in the Bay Area and New York, held the first of two storytelling events on “queer intersectionality, abortion, and the tech divide.” The Exhale team was proud to attend the event to support the speaker on abortion, Nina Friedman, an abortion doula with the Bay Area Doula Project and an Exhale talkline counselor.

Nina’s story, entitled “Honoring Complexities: Supporting Individuals Through Their Reproductive Experiences,” discussed her experiences caring for individuals during and after their abortion experiences. She discussed how stigma affects the lived experiences of people who have had abortions, and the importance of creating safe space in these vulnerable moments.

Congratulations on sharing your incredible story on providing post-abortion care, Nina! You can register for the final storytelling event of this series, taking place on September 28th in San Francisco, here.
